I did this one for the Oil/Acrylic category, in the annual Escalante Canyons Art Festival's plein air painting competition. Table Top is a prominent ridgetop seen as you drop off the rim into the red rock canyons toward the Escalante River, on Scenic Highway 12 east of the town of Escalante. The warm glow of the sand and rocks interspersed with sagebrush, Chamisa, and cedars made for a wonderful color and temperature contrast. Wouldn't exactly want to live there for long, but the southern Utah desert IS beautiful!
