Traunkirchens Licht

This was an exercise in watercolor combined with ink rendering at a workshop I participated in. This view of the village of Traunkirchen on the Traunsee in the Salzkammergut in Austria brings back so many childhood memories! My dad took my brother Werner and me by bus to Gmunden, where we boarded a small steamship to Ebensee on the other end of the lake for lunch, passing Traunkirchen on the way. For a little kid like me it was a magical day, ending with a train ride back to our town, Wels.
