I painted this one during a Intermountain Society of Artists paint-out in Brighton, at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon east of Salt Lake Valley. The Brighton Bowl area has always been one of my favorite haunts in the Wasatch Mountains, and yes–it also reminds me of my beloved Austrian mountains. I feel so at home in this peaceful little mountain valley at 9,000 feet, and painting this little lake was a real joy!
