...and then, there was another day, at a 1-day workshop in Logan, Utah, sponsored by the Cache Valley Chapter of the Utah Watercolor Society. Doyle Geddes, a local art teacher was the workshop instructor. It was a lot of fun! Doyle's style is to create a solid drawing, then go over it with watercolors, and he comes up with some wonderful color combinations. My style is probably a bit more realistic, I guess, but give it time–I will try harder to loosen up (is that an oxymoron?) and get more wild and free with my color treatments. I did this piece from a photo of the (apparently) iconic Mollie's Café in beautiful "downtown" Snowville, Utah. A total population of around 200 or so...really puts the "rural" in Utah!
