Armed with a new set of transparent watercolors, I dove right in during a very recent workshop taught by a very talented local artist. This piece is from a photo I took a couple of years ago in Mt. Pleasant Canyon, Utah, in the morning hours just as the sun was beginning to highlight this secluded, heavily forested ravine. I'll never forget the fresh scent of the lush profusion of dense ferns and wildflowers with those tall, slender yet majestic firs raking the morning sky. It so reminds me of the Austrian forests from my childhood!
